Somebody wanted soft top parts?

Somebody wanted soft top parts?

Can’t remember who, or find the thread (I did look for a long time).
Who was that?
I got a TJ header part and about the front half of a soft top to give him.
Ben

Ben E... I may hit you up on that offer in a bit, but for now I'm probably going to be dealing with bigger parts. flopped/flipped the jeep today at BP. Not fun. Let's see if I get her fixed or if the insurance informs me that she will need to go to jeep heaven.

Sorry for the thread jack, but that brings up a question I've had for a while about wheeling and insurance. Can you easily file a claim when you were using your vehicle for off-roading? I don't mean anyone's particular policy; just in general. I'd think that some insurance companies would find that reason to deny your claim (being that you were off road) or at least raise your rates so high it wouldn't be worth filing. Sort of like a streetbike on a racetrack. Just curious.

I have been told (by my insurance guy) that they don’t differentiate on or off road, an accident is an accident and they take care of it.

I suppose that's why we have insurance on mostly trail driven rigs, huh? I have full coverage on my Jeep which I rarely drive and only liability (plus some other added protection) on my DD beater. Hope I never have to file a claim for a flop...

So here's the skinny on the jeep.

I told them that I wrecked at a city park in Bridgeport. Insurance says my 2002 Jeep is worth $12500 totally stock. So 70% of that value is roughly $8750. As long as I didn't go over that I was okay.

They appraised the damages at $5800. So I'm not totalled.

SWEEEEEEEET!!!

Just thought about it, ask you insurance adjuster for a out of usage claim, and depreciated collateral.

Out of usage = similar to rental car insurance. I use one once to help buy a car instead of renting one. I got almost $800 for thirty days while the car was being repaired.

depreciated collateral / diminished value = since the vehicle was damage, the value of the vehicle has gone down some. With carfax your value will be less then if the car didn't show this wreck.

I might be using the wrong terms for this. The way I see it you should get paid for not being able to wheel it while the repairs are done. Also, since you just bought it, it should be easy to establish the before and after value of the your jeep.
